BUSINESS EVENING NETWORK

TERMS & CONDITIONS
1) The network group shall be called the Business Evening Network.
2) The purpose of Business Evening Network (BEN) is to bring together different types of businesses to promote the services and products of each of those businesses & support the members within the network. There will normally be only one business promoting each type of service / product.
3) The objectives of the Business Evening Network are to:
a) Recommend the services and products of each business within the network,
b) Share information and promote best practice, and
c) Use BEN as a marketing tool by attending weekly evening meetings to enable each business to grow.
4) The Business Evening Network will not allow another business offering similar services & products to join the Network, thus enabling a business to promote its products and services exclusively at the Business Evening Network.
5) Applications for membership or membership renewals shall be decided by the Business Evening Network Chairperson in consultation with the existing membership [as at the time the application was submitted.]
6) Membership of the Business Evening Network is for 12 months. Yearly membership is £450 to be paid quarterly in full in advance. Non payment will give the BEN Chairperson the right to offer your vacancy to another business.
7) £30 per month is also payable by standing order to Business Evening Network. This is the weekly room and equipment hire and cost of food and light refreshments.
8) All members should represent their business and attend a weekly meeting. If a member cannot attend a meeting, a colleague or representative can attend on their behalf.
9) Members who cannot attend a meeting, or provide a colleague or representative to attend the meeting on their behalf, should notify the Business Evening Network of their non-attendance by 12 Noon on the day before the designated day of the meeting.
10) There are no penalties for absence. However, members are encouraged to attend the weekly meetings, in order that the purpose of the network can be achieved.
11) Members are encouraged to participate at the weekly meetings and help run the meetings as and when required.
12) Members are expected to promote their business within the Business Evening Network at meetings and their own & other members outside of the Network.
13) Members who introduce other businesses to the Business Evening Network, who subsequently join, will receive a £50 incentive to be spent within the group.
14) Administration of and Management of the Business Evening Network (BEN) meetings shall be the responsibility of the BEN Chairperson. Members will be kept informed of all activities and any changes at weekly meetings and by regular e-mail and monthly newsletter.
15) By entering into this agreement the member undertakes not to disclose any information relating to the running and management of any businesses of other members of BEN. The member undertakes not to disclose any information, which may lead to the business of any other member suffering any financial loss or adverse publicity.
16) The partners and organisers of the Business Evening Network accept no responsibility for the breach, by any individual member, of any of the clauses within this agreement. The partners and organisers of the Business Evening Network accept no responsibility for any losses arising out of membership of BEN.
17) Should any claim be successfully brought against the partners and organisers of the Business Evening Network as a result of the actions of any of its members, then that member(s) {i.e. the member(s) responsible} agrees to indemnify the partners and organisers of the Business Evening Network in respect of the amount involved in such claim and in respect of any losses arising to the partners of the Business Evening Network there from.
18) The Membership Agreement may be terminated:
a) By either party giving to the other sixty (60) days notice in writing before any anniversary of the date hereof.
b) By the Business Evening Network group on written notice to the Member if the Member has committed any material breach of the Membership Agreement and in the case of a breach capable of being remedied, has failed to remedy the breach, within 30 days after the receipt of a written request in writing from the Business Evening Network group notifying the Member of such breach.
c) By the Business Evening Network group on written notice to the Member if the Member fails to pay any sum(s) due to Business Evening Network under the Membership Agreement and such sum(s) remain unpaid for thirty (30) days after written notice from the Business Evening Network that such sum(s) have not been paid.
d) For the avoidance of doubt, termination of the Membership Agreement for any reason shall not entitle the Member to any refund of the annual sum due under the Membership Agreement.
19) I / We understand that my / our signing for the membership fee of £…… for 12 months from the date of signing is acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
20) I / We understand that our membership of the Business Evening Network will enable our business to promote products and services from within our profession and that the Business Evening Network will not allow another business within the same profession to join the Network.
